Books changed my life, and I wish to have started reading earlier. The first book I read, by my own will, was in my my twenties, I think. As we live on this abundant world without precedents, it’s difficult to consume all books I want to.
Reading is a shortcut to experience, it transforms you in a better person, it gives you access to the ideas of the brightest minds. You learn things that aren’t taught at school. The power of the word, the passage and immortalization of ideas on paper. The things you learn reading books is comparable to traveling the world at the same time you listen to the wisest people (included who already died) while you live many years, and learn with the mistake of others.
Books are gold. Mark Zuckerberg did very well when he said:
“Books allow you to fully explore a topic and immerse yourself in a deeper way than most media today.”
– Mark Zuckerberg
The list bellow is about some books that made considerable impact on my life, this doesn’t means that it shall do the same on you, anyway, these are books I recommend:
“The Lean Startup” by Eric Ries
About how to validate business ideas creating “Minimum Viable Products” products. Don’t spend too much time working on a perfect product, release early and listen your users.
“Blue Ocean Strategy” by Renée Mauborgne and W. Chan Kim
On this book, the authors explains the advantages of avoiding the fights of competition by choosing niches. It opens our mind about the endless opportunities that sometimes we don’t see.
“On The Shortness of Life” by Seneca
Classic short book I read every year.
“The Long Tail” by Chris Anderson
On digital world, profit comes, most of the time, from the abundance. Mind changing book. I read everything from Chris Anderson since this book.
